Skills:
*An associate's degree in engineering or a related field, a technical degree,
or equivalent work experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive work
experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position without a
degree.)
*Three to four years of related experience in gas pipeline electrical engineering,
operations or construction.
*A strong analytical ability, good interpersonal and human relation skills.
*Demonstrate good judgment in problem solving and decision-making, with ability
to take action or commit oneself appropriately.
*Thorough understanding of electrical drafting procedures and techniques.
*Ability to provide work direction to assigned personnel.
*Working knowledge of AutoCAD and CAD overlay and electrical related application
and the Nvision Document Management System.
*Demonstrate knowledge in engineering and operations related, codes standard and
procedures, i.e. (NEC, DOT, Ferc, OSHA, NNG, etc.).
*Good oral and written communication skills.
*Excellent PC skills, including familiarity with Window environment, must be proficient
in Microsoft Office applications.
*Ability to work with changing priorities and exacting deadlines.
*Ability to make periodic field trips to operations technical office facilities
or other site as required.
*In-depth working knowledge of gas pipeline industry and NNG system preferred,
but not required.
*Ability to prioritize and handle multiple task and project concurrently.
Job Description:
*Analyzes project scope and engineering design criteria of assigned electrical
design projects to determine manpower requirements, angering criteria, ect.
*Selects material and prepares material lists based on standards, specifications,
and operation requirements.
*Prepares detail functional and physical design drawings of electrical equipment
and related facilities in accordance with accepted design practices and standards.
*Assembles and reviews project drawings for accuracy, completeness, content,
and compliance with accepted drawing standards and format.
*Revise drawings in accordance with redirected requirements.
*Assmebles Projects Completion Package and related documentsas assigned.
*Provides guidance and instruction to less experience designer as required.
*Participates in design conference and makes field trips concerning projects.
*Assist in meeting the company's business objective and the various government
agency rules and regulations.
*Reports status of projects to design manager. Make recommendations relative
to manpower requirements.
*Participate in task forces, conference and training sessions to streamline
or re-engineer internal/external processes as required.
*Perform and additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Experience: Six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed
for candidates applying for this position who do not posses a degree.
